Renegades Welcome Back Deandra Dottin

One of the most destructive all-rounders in world cricket, Dottin will enter her third season in red after featuring in every match for the Renegades during WBBL|11.

Her signing follows the return of fellow West Indies star and world No.1 T20 all-rounder Hayley Matthews, making Dottin the club's second international signing since the WBBL contracting embargo lifted.

The signings come after Cricket Australia announced significant changes to player movement for WBBL|12, scrapping the overseas player draft and returning to an open-market contracting system that allows clubs to directly sign international players for the first time since 2022.

Melbourne Renegades High Performance Manager, Clint McKay said Dottin's return was a significant addition to the squad.

"Deandra is one of the most impactful players in world cricket, and we're thrilled to welcome her back to the Melbourne Renegades," McKay said.

"She was a huge part of the WBBL|10 title success, and we know exactly what she can bring to our group both on and off the field. Her ability to influence games with both bat and ball is exceptional."

Dottin played a key role in the Renegades' maiden WBBL title in WBBL|10, combining with Matthews to form one of the competition's most damaging all-round partnerships as the West Indies duo helped drive the club to championship success. The pair will reunite in red this season after Matthews missed WBBL|11 through injury.

"Winning the championship with the Renegades was such a special experience and I'm really looking forward to being part of the group again," Matthews said following her re-signing earlier this month.

Dottin said she was eager to return to Melbourne and play alongside her West Indies teammate once again.

"I'm looking forward to returning to the Renegades and especially playing with Hayley Matthews once again," Dottin said.

"We've shared some special memories on the field together, and being back in Melbourne, where we won a title together, brings back plenty of great memories. I'm excited for the season ahead."

The first woman to score a T20I century and one of the game's most accomplished all-rounders, Dottin adds world-class experience, power and versatility to new coach Gavan Twining's squad as the Renegades continue building their list for WBBL|12.
