The Melbourne Renegades have bolstered their squad for the return Melbourne Derby against the Stars at Marvel Stadium.
SQUAD: Doggett named as Gades reload for Derby
Test fast bowler Brendan Doggett joins the group fresh from Australia's 4-1 Ashes series victory over England.
Doggett flew in direct from post-Ashes celebrations in Sydney and is in line to make his Renegades debut, with Harry Dixon also added to the squad of 14 poised for the 30th edition of the Melbourne Derby.
Ollie Peake and Andrew Tye come out of the squad, with Peake on national duties at the Under 19 World Cup.
Doggett brings with him a wealth of Big Bash experience with 48 matches and 43 wickets to his name and is coming off a fantastic domestic season which bought about his selection into the Australian Test squad and subsequent debut in Perth where he took five wickets for the match.
The clash comes after a dramatic last-over win in the teams’ most recent meeting, where Gades captain Will Sutherland sealed victory with a six off the second-last ball of the innings to produce one of the most memorable moments in Derby history.
There is so much to play for in Saturday's instalment with both sides alive in the BBL|15 finals race while the fixture will be elevated even further with Aussie rockstars Thirsty Merc and ARIA-nominated Cyril lighting up Marvel Stadium in the pre-game and innings break.
The newly minted Melbourne Mace will again be up for grabs with the family of Ben Austin, a passionate Renegades fan forever, presenting the trophy post-game to the winning team.
The Final XI will be confirmed at the toss.
