This Keeper's a keeper!

The Melbourne Renegades have locked in wicketkeeper-batter Nicole Faltum ahead of WBBL|11.

Faltum has put pen to paper on a two-year deal fresh from enjoying a breakout WBBL campaign in her first season in red, producing several standout performances that helped the Renegades capture their maiden WBBL title.

The 24-year-old was instrumental throughout the season, highlighted by a match-winning 66* against her former side, the Stars, at the MCG and her composure behind the stumps in key moments. She would compile 136 runs from eight innings' at an impressive 134.65 batting from number seven in the order.

Her consistency and leadership were rewarded with a maiden national call-up earlier this year, when she joined Australia’s T20I squad against New Zealand.

Renegades General Manager, James Rosengarten, said Faltum’s re-signing was a key priority for the club.

“Nicole’s impact last season went beyond her runs and dismissals,” Rosengarten said.

“She’s a natural leader who sets standards on and off the field, and she played a crucial role in building the connection and belief within the group that ultimately led to our success. Having her recommit to the club is another strong step towards sustained success.”

A Traralgon product, Faltum grew up supporting the Renegades before joining the club as a rookie in WBBL|02. After a long stint in green, she returned home and quickly became a key figure in the Renegades’ resurgence.

Faltum said she was thrilled to continue her journey with the club.

“The Renegades feel like home to me,” Faltum said.

“Last season was really special. Always challenging switching rivals but the club has made me feel so welcome and to help the group achieve something historic was something I’ll never forget.

"But what excites me most is what’s ahead. We’ve built a strong, connected squad and I’m really keen to keep pushing and see how far we can take it.”

Faltum will once again form part of a strong Victorian core featuring Sophie Molineux, Georgia Wareham, Milly Illingworth and Tess Flintoff as the Renegades prepare to defend their title in WBBL|11.
