The Melbourne Renegades Academy will next face the ACT Meteors from 11AM Saturday 16 August.

The Renegades are set for six matches in nine days, taking on a combination of international and domestic opponents. With Big Bash contracts still on the line, the tournament presents a golden chance for players to strengthen their claims ahead of BBL|15.

Will Sutherland will captain a Renegades outfit featuring seven players from last year's Big Bash team with Josh Brown, Xavier Crone, Harry Dixon, Fergus O'Neill, Ollie Peake, Callum Stow all making the trip to Darwin.

Game 1 vs Melbourne Stars - Renegades WIN!

Aiming to get off to a hot start, Josh Brown put up a quick-fire 39 from 26 deliveries, with 7 boundaries. 

Ollie Peake continued the charge finishing with 46 from 39 deliveries, but it was skipper Will Sutherland batting at number 4 who led from the front, top scoring with 63 from 34 deliveries. 

Sutherland continued his form with the ball in hand, finishing with 2-35 from 3 overs, yet it was young gun Callum Stow was the most economical of the Renegades bowlers, finishing his 4 overs with figures of 0-28 with an economy of 7.0 and recording 7 dot balls. 

The Renegades held on in the final over, with the Stars completing their innings at 6-185, 5 runs short of the 190-run target.
