Renegades launch 'The Fizz Bay' as Mustafizur Rahman signs for BBL|16

Melbourne Renegades have signed one of the world’s most prolific T20 wicket-takers, with Bangladesh left-arm quick Mustafizur Rahman joining the club for BBL|16.

'The Fizz' will be making his BBL debut having taken over 400 wickets in T20 cricket around the world.

To celebrate the announcement, the Renegades have launched "The Fizz Bay" where fans can come together at the MCG on January 1 and January 16.

The first 200 family tickets using the Promo code FIZZBAY are 50% OFF, giving Melbourne's Bangladeshi community a chance to come together and watch Bangladesh's favourite fast bowler in red.

On the field, Mustafizur's addition will shore up the Renegades' fast bowling stocks, after Jason Behrendorff was ruled out for the season with a shoulder injury.

"I am looking forward to playing in the BBL for the first time with the Melbourne Renegades," Mustafizur said.

"It will be special to play at the MCG as my home ground and I'm excited to join my teammates and bring my experience to the squad."

Melbourne Renegades Head Coach Luke Ronchi said Mustafizur’s wicket-taking pedigree and big-match temperament made him the ideal addition to the club’s bowling attack, and he expects him to thrive in front of BBL crowds.

"Mustafizur is a proven match-winner in T20 cricket all over the world. His ability to take wickets in both the powerplay and at the death is exactly what we wanted in our attack,”

“BBL audiences love a player who can change a game in a single over and Mustafizur can do just that. Every ball has the potential to produce something special, and our fans are going to love watching him bring the theatre across the summer.”

Mustafizur will be unavailable for the club's opening fixture in Chennai but will join the Renegades in Melbourne at the completion of his ILT20 commitments.
