Behrendorff to miss BBL|16 following shoulder surgery

Melbourne Renegades fast bowler Jason Behrendorff will miss KFC BBL|16 after undergoing recent shoulder surgery.

Despite being sidelined, Behrendorff will remain with the Renegades squad across the season.

Behrendorff joined the Renegades ahead of BBL|15 and made his debut for the club in the opening match of that season. He remains contracted for BBL|17.

“It’s disappointing to miss a BBL season, but I’ve got a clear plan with the medical team, and my focus is on getting my shoulder right so I can return to full fitness,” Behrendorff said.

“I’m looking forward to supporting the team and staying involved throughout the season, being able to work closely with the bowlers and coaching staff.”

“It also provides an opportunity to work with the Renegade media team and broadcasters to share a different view of the game for our fans.”

The club will seek to add a replacement player to the squad as additional cover for Beherndorff before the season commences.
