Melbourne Renegades will host the opening match of the Weber WBBL|12 season, taking on Sydney Thunder in what will be a historic double-header at Junction Oval.
The Renegades will play the opening game at 3.40pm on Thursday 29th of October, with the new lights at the venue to be turned on for the first time in the WBBL. Fans attending will get two games for the price of one, with Melbourne Stars hosting the evening match at 7:10pm.
The addition of lights at Junction Oval will see more fixtures played in accessible time slots than ever before in the club’s history, with seven out of the 10 home and away matches for the season played in prime time.
The Renegades will play six matches at Junction Oval, with Derby matches against Melbourne Stars coming under lights on Sunday 22 November and Saturday 28 November. These matches will see the Melbourne Mace played for in the WBBL for the first time.
The Renegades will also participate in the Stadium Series fixture against Adelaide Strikers at the Adelaide Oval in a Friday night fixture on 20 November.
Early bird access to tickets will be on sale from Wednesday 4th of August.
