Coyte back on the hunt for WBBL|11

Melbourne Renegades pace bowler Sarah Coyte has re-signed for a fourth season in red ahead of WBBL|11, reinforcing the club’s seam-bowling stocks with her experience, composure and leadership.

A mainstay in the Renegades’ pace unit since WBBL|08, Coyte has been a trusted performer with the new ball and in high-pressure overs while playing a key mentoring role for the club’s younger bowlers.

At 34, Coyte brings a wealth of experience to the squad, having represented Australia across all three formats between 2010 and 2016 and featured in multiple WBBL clubs throughout her decorated domestic career.

Melbourne Renegades General Manager, James Rosengarten, said:

“Sarah is a true professional, she gives us reliability, experience and an ability to perform under pressure.

"Having her back in red is a big boost as we shape our attack for WBBL|11. She’ll play an important role this year in big matches and will continue her work guiding our next generation through.”

Melbourne Renegades WBBL Squad (so far): Sophie Molineux (Captain), Charis Bekker, Alice Capsey, Sarah Coyte, Emma de Broughe, Deandra Dottin, Tess Flintoff, Milly Illingworth, Sara Kennedy, Naomi Stalenberg, Georgia Wareham, Courtney Webb

Coyte said she was excited to return to the Renegades for another season.

“The Gades are my second home so I’m super excited to continue in red.

"I’ve seen the group evolve first hand, and I love how much excitement and energy there is around our group now. It had all built up to that championship and we’re so keen to go again.

"As an experienced bowler within this group, I’m keen to push this talented attack to see what we can achieve this season.”

With Coyte locked in, the Renegades’ bowling unit boasts depth, variety and experience ahead of the new season, with further player announcements to follow in the lead up to the first ball of WBBL|11.
