Stow and Ready: Spinner signs on ahead of BBL|15

The Melbourne Renegades have added spinner Callum Stow to the club’s primary list for the upcoming Big Bash season.

Stow, 23, re-joins the Renegades on a one-year deal after impressing in his first taste of Big Bash last summer.

He made his debut late in the season after being signed as a Local Replacement Player, and quicky make an impression.

The left-arm leg-spinner claimed his first wicket on debut and followed up with an impressive two-wicket performance against the Brisbane Heat the very next game, showing poise and control beyond his years.

A product of the Geelong Cricket Club, Stow has continued to build on his promising start under the guidance of Renegades Head Coach Cameron White.

“It’s an amazing feeling to be back with the Renegades for another season,” Stow said.

“Last season gave me a real taste of what this level is all about. I learnt so much from the group in such a short time and, with a summer with Victoria, I’m really hungry to build on that experience and keep improving.

"I can’t wait to get stuck into BBL|15.”

Melbourne Renegades BBL|15 Squad (so far): Will Sutherland (Captain), Jason Behrendorff, Josh Brown, Harry Dixon, Ben Doggett, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Caleb Jewell, Hassan Khan, Nathan Lyon, Fergus O'Neill, Oliver Peake, Muhammad Rizwan, Tom Rogers, Tim Seifert, Adam Zampa

Stow’s rise has been steady and well-earned. A standout performer in Premier Cricket and a former member of Cricket Victoria’s Targeted Rookie Program, he first caught attention through strong performances for the Renegades Academy and representative teams, including a nine-wicket haul across five matches at the Global Super League tournament in Guyana in 2024.

Melbourne Renegades General Manager James Rosengarten said Stow’s elevation to the primary list was richly deserved.

“Callum’s development over the past 12 months has been fantastic to see,” Rosengarten said.

“He’s worked hard on his game, made the most of his opportunities, and shown he belongs at this level. We’re excited to see what he can produce with a full Big Bash campaign ahead of him.”

Stow joins a strong group of Victorian talent as the Renegades continue to build towards BBL|15.
