Squad named for Tuesday night

28 December 2020

The Melbourne Renegades have named an 18-player squad for Tuesday night’s match against the Sydney Sixers.

The Renegades will be looking for victory to get the season back on track at Metricon Stadium on the Gold Coast.

It also presents an opportunity for the Gades to avenge their loss to the Sixers a fortnight earlier in Hobart.

In further squad news, South African international Imran Tahir has informed the club he will not be able to join the team this season due to personal reasons.

“Imran’s a great player so it is a loss, but at the same time, we’ve got Noor Ahmad – he’s a bowler people haven’t seen that much, so it might work in our favour,” Head Coach Michael Klinger said.

“Noor will now be able to play a fair chunk of the season.

“It is a loss, but what a huge opportunity for young Noor to come in and have a huge impact on the BBL.”

Noor joins Mohammad Nabi, Rilee Rossouw and Imad Wasim as the Gades’ international contingent.

Tuesday night’s match will be broadcast live on Fox Cricket, Kayo Sports and radio 1116 SEN from 6.10pm (AEDT).
