Nabi, who has spent recent weeks playing for the Rangpur Rangers in the Bangladesh Premier League, has arrived in Australia and will don the Renegades colours for the remainder of the season.
The 35-year-old comes into the 13-man squad in place of fellow international Richard Gleeson, who has completed his eight-match stint as a Renegade.
From 21 games across two BBL seasons, Nabi boasts an economy rate of just 6.65 per over thanks to his off-spinners, while his power hitting has seen him clear the rope six times.
While he was not present for the BBL|08 final against the Melbourne Stars, Nabi played a key role in helping the Renegades qualify, and will again play a key role in the second half of the current season.
He is joined in the squad by 20-year-old all-rounder Nathan McSweeney, who has played three First Class matches for Queensland, including one against Victoria earlier this season.
McSweeney is a replacement player for paceman Kane Richardson, who is currently touring India with the Australian One Day International squad.
Both moves have been approved by the W/BBL Technical Committee.
Paceman Luke Robins, meanwhile, joins Gleeson as the two absentees from the 13-man squad that took on the Stars on Friday night.
Sunday’s match will be broadcast live around Australia on Fox Cricket.
