Ria Money Transfer backs Champions League

25 October 2018

The Champions League Captains display this season's playing shirts.

The Melbourne Renegades are pleased to announce a new partnership with one of the world’s largest money transfer businesses, Ria Money Transfer.

The alignment coincides with the launch of the Renegades Champions League which gets underway this weekend in Parkville.

Ria Money Transfer is a presenting partner for the tournament and the official community partner for the Melbourne Renegades.

“Ria Money Transfer has been looking to partner with a premier sports team in Australia for the past few years,” Ria Money Transfer’s Marketing Manager Nik Maricic said.

“Ria is growing rapidly within the South Asian community and quickly becoming the dependable remittance brand for many families when they send money back home to loved ones. This is why the primary goal was to support a sports team that is supported by our customers.

“Our customers are passionate about their cricket; therefore, Melbourne Renegades fit this criterion perfectly.

“Ria is proud to jump on board as an official sponsor and community partner of the Melbourne Renegades and the presenting partner of the Melbourne Renegades Champions League.”

Ria is one of the biggest money transfer companies in the world, with a presence in 150 countries and more than 350,000 locations across the globe.

The Melbourne Renegades Champions League is a T20 tournament run by the club that sees local cricketers represent their community.

This season will mark the fourth instalment of the competition.

An Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander team will participate for the first time alongside six returning communities (Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, India and Nepal).

“The Champions League tournament has grown quite rapidly and having Ria Money Transfer on board as a presenting partner and a community partner for the club is a significant outcome,” Renegades CEO Stuart Coventry said.

“Ria has a strong presence in the South Asian community and the Champions League works closely with that community as well, so there is strong alignment with the two brands and we’re looking forward to working closely with Ria moving forward.”
