Renegades descend on Ballarat

20 November 2018

The Melbourne Renegades are extending their footprint in western Victoria this season, with the Renegades’ WBBL side hosting a home and away match at Ballarat’s Eastern Oval in December.

In a landmark partnership between the Melbourne Renegades and the City of Ballarat, the Renegades will host the Adelaide Strikers in their round 3 WBBL|04 clash, however the day will be about a lot more than just on field action.

It will be a full day of family fun at Eastern Oval on Sunday 9 December, with competitions, music, giveways, the Renegades Fan Zone, as well as a range of food trucks, the canteen and a sausage sizzle all available to purchase a range of family-friendly food and drink options.

Kicking off the on-field action for the day will be the Greater Western Challenge; a special U17 curtain raiser match will be played prior to the Renegades vs. Strikers WBBL game. The curtain raiser will showcase the best young female cricket talent across western regional Victoria, with the Molineux XI (Central Highlands) taking on the Wareham XI (Western Waves/Barwon).

Following the main event there will also be the opportunity for the next generation of Renegades to take part in a Cricket Blast Mega Session on Eastern Oval.
