The Melbourne Renegades have announced that Head Coach Simon Helmot’s contract will be not renewed for the forthcoming Big Bash season.
Helmot was involved in the setup of the franchise for the league’s inaugural season and took the team to the semi-finals in BBL|02.
Melbourne Renegades CEO Stuart Coventry thanked Helmot for his contribution to the club over four BBL seasons.
“We’d like to express our appreciation for Simon’s efforts - he was involved from the initial stages with setting up the Melbourne Renegades and has been an important factor in instilling our club’s values through his leadership in the following years,” Coventry said.
“It is in the best interests of future Club success to seek a new direction in the head coaching role,” Coventry added.
The club will now begin an international search for a new Head Coach.
