Batter Rebecca Carter and all-rounder Amy Yates are the two new inclusions to the squad after a series of injuries to senior players.
Yates joins the squad as a Local Replacement Player for Georgia Wareham who will miss the rest of the tournament due to a bone stress reaction in her shin.
Carter, meanwhile, comes into the squad as a Local Replacement Player for Maitlan Brown who is out for the remainder of the season with a hamstring tendon injury.
During the weekend’s matches, the Renegades will be wearing a special Indigenous playing shirt to mark NAIDOC Week as a part of the WBBL First Nations Festival of Cricket.
The weekend’s matches will also include pre-match barefoot circles, as well as the Walkabout Wickets artwork on match balls and bat flip.
The shirt, designed by teenager Ky-ya Nicholson-Ward, was a huge hit when it was debuted in the Renegades’ inaugural Indigenous Match against the Hobart Hurricanes in the BBL last season.
Nicholson-Ward is a member of the Wurundjeri mob, and her work was a proud centrepiece of the match, winning rave reviews from supporters online.
