WBBL clash with Heat abandoned

26 October 2020

Bad weather has led to the abandonment of a second match involving the Melbourne Renegades in as many days.

Monday’s match against the Brisbane Heat was scheduled to begin at 9.30am (AEDT) at Sydney’s Hurstville Oval, but was called off due to persistent rain at 11am.

It follows the abandonment of Sunday’s match between the Renegades and the Melbourne Stars after only 17 overs.

As a result, the Renegades are yet to play a fully completed match in the early stages of WBBL|06.

The side will receive a point for each match without a result, leaving it with two points after two matches.

It wasn’t the only match abandoned on Monday, for the Melbourne Stars v Sydney Thunder match was called off after a matter of overs.

The Renegades will be hoping for sunnier skies when they meet the Perth Scorchers at Sydney’s Drummoyne Oval on Saturday at 2.30pm (AEDT).
