After back-to-back wins against depleted Melbourne Stars and Brisbane Heat outfits, the Renegades couldn't match it with the Thunder who posted their fifth straight win in BBL|11.
The visitors posted 7-209 after being asked to bat first, before knocking the Renegades over for just 80 inside 15 overs.
Daniel Sams (98* off 44 deliveries) and Alex Hales (63 off 28) blasted the Thunder to an imposing total.
Emerging quick Zak Evans claimed the early wicket of Matt Gilkes, but the Thunder were still able to progress at 10 runs per over in the first half of their innings.
Hales did the damage early, before Sams jumped in during the ninth over and saw the innings out.
All-rounder Will Sutherland was the Renegades' most economical bowler with 1-23 off three overs, while Kane Richardson finished with 2-39 off his four overs.
In reply, nothing went right for the Renegades with the bat.
Sam Harper fell cheaply in the second over, with Shaun Marsh and Nic Maddinson also departing in single figures during the power play.
When Aaron Finch was bowled for 17, the Renegades found themselves at 5-38.
James Seymour played a lone hand with 25, while Richardson showed some fight to finish with 17.
The Renegades will return to their home-away-from-home - Geelong's GMHBA Stadium - on Tuesday to face the Sydney Sixers.
