The Snapshot: After winning the bat flip and sending the Heat into bat, things didn’t go to plan for the Renegades. A whirlwind start saw the heat lose their first wicket for 70 in the seventh over. This brought together Brendon McCullum and Chris Lynn, who both put on a show of power in their 89 runs partnership. The Heat ended their innings on 4-192. Daniel Christian was the pick of the bowlers with 2-24(4).
In reply with the bat things just never got going for the Renegades, with the top score of the innings coming from Cameron Boyce at number nine. He reeled off an entertaining 25(21) in a score of 91.
The Key Moment: The key moment was the powerplay batting from the Heat, they got off to a flyer a never looked back. Also having three player score 40+ was key in their total of 192.
The Key Player: The Key player in the match for the Renegades would be split between Christian and Boyce for their efforts with the bat and ball respectively. Christian kept it down to just six runs per over whilst taking two wickets and Boyce showed he is a clean striker of the ball.
Up Next: The Gades will be looking to jump back on the winners list quickly as they take on the Sydney Sixers at the SCG on January 16.
