The matches will have a unique “Kids Day Out” theme hosted by Nickelodeon. Renegades players Brad Hogg and Sophie Molineux were “slimed” today as part of their induction to the Nickelodeon fun.
The showpiece clashes at Kardinia Park, delivered in partnership with the Victorian Government, the City of Greater Geelong and the Kardinia Park Stadium Trust are part of the club and league’s expansion plan to bring more cricket to more Victorians.
Melbourne Renegades Chief Executive Stuart Coventry said the club wanted all cricket fans in Geelong and the western region to secure their seats in advance.
“Tickets are on sale now and it’s time to get on board what will be a fantastic day of Big Bash cricket in January. We know we’ll get great support from both the local community and holiday-goers who are down on the Bellarine Peninsula for summer holidays. We want to pack out Kardinia Park and make it a fantastic atmosphere,” Coventry said.
Kardinia Park Stadium Trust Chairman Michael Brown said he looked forward to hosting the Big Bash party.
“We are excited to host summer’s ‘Biggest Party’ at Australia’s best regional Stadium. The cricket loving Geelong community, as well as the many visitors to the region will relish the opportunity to experience the excitement, colour and action of the Big Bash League under lights at GMHBA Stadium.”
