BBL|05 supplementary list

08 December 2015

The Renegades have finalised their list for the season

The final players have been signed to the Melbourne Renegades for BBL|05.

The supplementary list for the summer features a host of players in strong form for their respective clubs, allowing for cover in multiple areas if any Renegades on the main list are unavailable.

If any Renegade on the main playing list is ruled out by injury then a supplementary player will be the one which replaces him.

However, a key point is that under BBL rules a replacement player can be selected from any club’s supplementary list.

When Alavi was just 16, he became the youngest player to represent Victoria’s second XI, named in the Futures League side.

Jackson Coleman

Coleman has impressed in the Futures League for Victoria, taking eight wickets in his last match against Tasmania.

The paceman is also a talented footballer, playing for the Sandringham Dragons in the TAC Cup and for the Zebras in the VFL before turning to cricket.

Matthew Doric

Player: Bowler – right arm fast-medium

Doric has been in stunning form for Essendon in the Victorian Premier League, taking 30 wickets so far this summer.

With five hauls of 4+ wickets, Doric is second overall in the wicket tally, also averaging only 13.13 and going at less than four an over.

Sam Grimwade

Age: 17
Player type: Bowler – right arm off-spin

It is the second consecutive year for Grimwade on the Renegades’ supplementary list.

The teenager spent large parts of the off-season with the Australian Under 19 side playing against England, firstly playing at home late in April before travelling to England in August.

Trent Lawford

Age: 27
Player: All-rounder, right hand batsman, right arm fast-medium

Lawford made two appearances for the Adelaide Strikers in BBL|04, playing in the wins against Brisbane and Perth.

Able to hit the ball a long way, Lawford has a score of 265 from only 187 deliveries to his name, made in Adelaide grade cricket.
