Amy Satterthwaite WBBL|05 update

20 August 2019

The Melbourne Renegades would like to congratulate WBBL Captain Amy Satterthwaite and her wife Lea Tahuhu following news the couple are expecting their first child early next year.

The New Zealand internationals and Renegades players announced the news on social media earlier today.

Satterthwaite will be unavailable to play in WBBL|05 but will perform a specialist coaching role.

Tahuhu will continue to be available and will join the Renegades squad ahead of the season opener on October 19.

In Satterthwaite’s absence, the Renegades will announce a new Captain and a replacement international player in the coming days.

“First and foremost we are very excited for Amy and Lea. They are very popular members within the team and I know their teammates are absolutely thrilled for them,” Renegades Coach Tim Coyle said.

“Amy has a great cricket mind and will be of great benefit to the squad, albeit in an off-field capacity.

“We’re looking forward to having Lea lead our pace attack this season and we’re confident we’ve got some strong captaincy options within the squad.”

Satterthwaite has captained the Renegades for the last two seasons and was the WBBL|03 Player of the Season, while Tahuhu is the club’s second leading wicket taker in history.
