The Melbourne Renegades have named a 14-player squad for this weekend’s double-header against the Hobart Hurricanes at the CitiPower Centre.
Youngsters Makinley Blows and Courtney Neale have both been added to the extended group, replacing the injured Claire Koski who damaged her shoulder while fielding during the loss to the Perth Scorchers last week.
Neither Blows nor Neale have worn a Renegades cap just yet, but both have established themselves as players to watch in the years to come.
An all-rounder, Blows was originally a Renegades rookie during WBBL|01 before crossing to the Melbourne Stars, for whom she played 18 matches over the past three seasons.
Neale, meanwhile, is a 21-year-old fast bowler who broke into the Victorian Women’s Team last November.
Sadly, Koski’s shoulder injury will mark the end of her WBBL|05 campaign. The all-rounder has been a key member of the team ever since she arrived ahead of WBBL|03, and will now focus on her recovery.
The Renegades enter match in sixth on the ladder with two wins and four losses, one place behind the Hurricanes, who have also notched two wins from their six games.
