Boyce also put on a show with the bat when it counted, including turning around the Renegades’ fortunes in their final home match of the regular season against the Sydney Thunder, with an unbeaten 51 off just 22 balls.

Consistent throughout the season, his experience stood out when he guided the Renegades to a seemingly unlikely semi-final victory against the Sixers - thanks to an unbeaten 31 runs off just 14 balls - backed up by another Player of the Match-winning performance against the Melbourne Stars in the Final. The ultimate all-round cricketer, Christian also took 15 catches throughout BBL|08; the second-highest number taken by any individual player for the season. He now has seven T20 titles to his name.

Despite only coming into the Renegades’ line-up for the back-half of the season, Gurney established himself as one of the best death bowlers in the competition. He finished the season with an economy of 7.17; a phenomenal achievement given he bowled the majority of his overs either in the powerplay or at the death.

Despite starting the season without a BBL contract, Harper played all 16 games as a replacement player, due to a host of players being called away for Australian duties or sidelined with injuries. He did more than just fill a gap on the team’s list however, establishing himself as arguably the most improved cricketer of the summer, finishing the season as the Gades’ top run-scorer with a total of 341 runs. He was one of just two Renegades players to score in excess of 300 runs for BBL|08.
