Young Meyrick Buchanan has continued to impress those in cricket circles across the globe with his efforts with bat and ball in the Australian under 19 set-up.
'Mud' played one match with the Renegades in BBL|01, opening the batting against the Strikers at Adelaide Oval and finishing with 11 runs. He'll certainly come back better for his run in the Australian under 19s during the off-season, including the Under 19 World Cup.
Growing up as a talented all-round athlete, Meyrick recently had to make the tough decision between pursuing cricket or AFL football as his career of choice. Luckily for Renegades fans, the boy from Geelong withdrew from the AFL draft and signed with Cricket Victoria late in 2011.
Buchanan comes from strong sporting pedigree. His elder brother Amon is an accomplished AFL star having played in the Sydney Swans flag of 2005, while brother Liam opens the batting for Geelong CC in Victorian premier league cricket.
