Rohrer receives Australia A call-up
The news caps off an already great week for Rohrer, who is scheduled to make his international debut in tonight’s KFC T20 INTL against West Indies in Brisbane.
The 31 year-old’s call-up comes on the back of an exceptional BBL|02 for the Renegades, in which he was the leading middle-order batsman of the competition with 295 runs at a strike-rate of 152.06, the highest clip of any of the season’s top 20 run-scorers.
The left-hander’s irresistible form saw calls for higher honours from former internationals Damien Fleming and Steve and Mark Waugh.
Rohrer is still likely to take his place for NSW in tomorrow’s Ryobi One-Day Cup match against South Australia before joining Australia A in Hobart, where Renegades teammate Aaron Finch will captain. Renegades import Alex Hales is a member of the England Lions squad.
