Finch in top three

23 January 2017

The captain’s performances have been rewarded in the player ratings

Aaron Finch’s outstanding BBL|06 has seen him earn a spot in the top three of the batting category in the official player ratings.

Finch was the only Renegades batsmen to pass 250 runs for the tournament, with the opening batsman scoring 354 runs at an average of 44.25.

He posted four half-centuries for the tournament, with his highest score of 71 occurring against the Heat in the final game of the season.

Finch hit 29 fours for the tournament, only behind the Strikers’ Ben Dunk, with 35.

Dunk is one above Finch on the official player ratings, with Brisbane Heat’s Chris Lynn topping the list.

Brad Hogg is the leading Renegade in the bowling category, coming in at number four.

The left-arm chinaman spinner claimed eight wickets at an average of 28.87 and had the lowest economy rate (7.21) out of the Renegades bowlers to have claimed a wicket in BBL|06.

West Indian international Sunil Narine sits behind him in ninth place after claiming 13 wickets for the tournament, at an average of 19.23.

The pair were vital contributors for the Renegades with the ball.

Despite a hamstring injury ruling him out of most of the BBL|06 campaign, Dwayne Bravo is in fourth position of the all-rounders category.

Bravo’s brief campaign saw him score 47 runs and claim two wickets in his two appearances.

Off-spinner Tom Cooper rounds out the top five in the all-rounders category, after claiming five wickets for the tournament in an unfamiliar role opening the bowling for the Renegades.

With the bat, Cooper scored 167 runs striking at 159.04. His highest score of 53 not out came against the Hobart Hurricanes in the record-breaking match at Etihad Stadium.
