The Melbourne Renegades leg-spinning double act of James Muirhead and Fawad Ahmed could both make their Australian first-class debuts after being named in the 12-man squad for Victoria's Sheffield Shield clash with South Australia in Adelaide, starting Thursday.
Despite limited opportunities in BBL|02 due to excellent performances from front line spinners Muthiah Muralidaran, Aaron O'Brien and Marlon Samuels, both leggies impressed in their time at Camp Renegades with their bowling and work ethic.
Ahmed previously played 10 first-class matches in Pakistan before relocating to Australia, while 19 year-old Muirhead is also highly regarded by the Renegades and considered a star of the future.
Both bowlers are among the top 10 wicket takers in Victorian Premier Cricket this season.
