Renegades Captain Aaron Finch has today been named in Australia's 12-player squad for the two KFC T20 Internationals against Sri Lanka to be played in Sydney on Saturday and Melbourne next Monday.

The right-hander was last week named BBL|02 Player of the Tournament after compiling 332 runs in eight innings throughout the competition, steering the Renegades to seven wins from their eight regular season matches.

Finch, 26, is also the leading run-scorer in this season's Ryobi One-Day Cup with 497 runs for Victoria at an average of 99.40. His stellar season saw him rewarded with two one-day international caps against Sri Lanka earlier this month.

In naming the squad, National Selector John Inverarity specifically recognised Finch's award when speaking about the in-form squad selected for the two matches.

Inverarity also named Finch in a group of new players who have "shown outstanding form in the T20 format over the past two months. Their performances have been compelling and we anticipate they will take this momentum into the two fixtures scheduled for 26 and 28 January."

Finch previously played three T20 internationals for Australia in the 2011-12 season, which included a man-of-the-match winning effort of 53 not out off just 35 balls against England at the MCG.

Inverarity also made specific mention of Renegades batsman Ben Rohrer, saying the left-hander was very close to selection following an excellent BBL|02 campaign.

“Ben Rohrer played brilliantly with the Melbourne Renegades and was in strong contention for inclusion," Inverarity said.
